Book 33, Question 29
Why can a baby giraffe stand soon after birth while a baby mouse cannot?
Some mammals, like giraffes, horses, and deer, are born with open eyes and strong legs.
A giraffe calf can stand in about an hour, because it must keep up with its herd. A baby mouse is born tiny, pink, and hairless and stays in a nest. Both plans work. They are different ways to start life.
