What Crafty Clover says in this video

Intro

The Big Idea

Baby turtles hatch deep in the sand. They dig out together! Why?

Group Digging

Step one: Group Digging. Baby turtles hatch inside a nest buried in sand. Each one wiggles its flippers, and the group together digs upward, a little at a time.

More Sand Moved

Step two: More Sand Moved. Teamwork helps them move more sand than one baby could. Working as a team makes the climb easier.

Night Escape

Step three: Night Escape. They often come out together, usually at night when the sand is cooler and there are fewer dangers. This is sometimes called a turtle boil.
