Can turtles hear us?
Turtles don’t have outer ears, but they have eardrums covered by a smooth layer of skin on the sides of the head. They hear low, deep sounds best, like a rumble or a splash. Underwater sound may also travel through their shell to the inner ear. Turtles don’t hear high pitches well, but they can sense low vibrations nearby.
