Intro

The Big Idea

Crows eat almost anything! Seeds, fruit, bugs, and more. Why can they eat so many kinds of food?

Generalists

Step one: Generalists. Crows are generalists, which means they eat many kinds of food. They eat seeds, fruit, insects, worms, and scraps.

All-Purpose Bills

Step two: All-Purpose Bills. Their strong, straight bills work like all-purpose tools. They can dig, tear, pick, and pry.

Live Anywhere

Step three: Live Anywhere. Because they aren't picky, crows can live in forests, farms, and cities. A flexible diet is a big advantage when one kind of food gets hard to find.
