Book 33, Question 124

Are people apes?

Yes.

Scientists group humans with the great apes: chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas, and orangutans. People have no tails, have broad chests, and have shoulders that can rotate widely, just like apes. We share a common ancestor with them. We are the only apes who walk upright all the time and build cities. Humans are special apes.

Quick answers
