Book 33, Question 91
Why do giraffes and camels move both legs on the same side together?
Most four-legged animals move their legs in diagonal pairs when they walk.
Camels and giraffes do something different: they pace, moving the two legs on the same side at the same time. Their legs are long, and pacing may keep their legs from bumping each other. It makes them sway side to side as they stride. Different bodies, different steps.
