Book 32, Question 98
How do gecko eggs stay glued in place?
Many house geckos lay hard-shelled eggs that are sticky when new.
As the egg dries, the shell glues itself to a wall, a leaf, or the bark of a tree. This keeps the eggs in a safe, hidden place. The tiny babies hatch later with an egg tooth. Sticky eggs are an easy way to hide a nest, even on a vertical surface.
