Book 32, Question 90

How long must a reptile nest wait before the babies come out?

It depends on the species and temperature.

Many snake and lizard eggs hatch in about six to twelve weeks. Turtle eggs often take around two months. A tuatara’s eggs take more than a year. Warmer nests help eggs hatch faster, and cool ones slow things down. Patience is the name of the game for baby reptiles.
