Book 32, Question 80
Where do reptiles hide their eggs?
Many reptiles bury their eggs in soil, sand, or leaf piles, where the temperature is steady and the eggs are hidden.
Some use rotting logs, tree holes, or cracks in rocks. Pythons and some skinks stay to guard their eggs. A good hiding spot protects the eggs from drying out and from hungry animals. Choosing the right spot is one of the most important jobs of a reptile mom.
