Book 31, Question 119
How did blue tits learn to open milk bottles?
About a hundred years ago in England, people left milk bottles with foil lids on doorsteps.
Blue tits learned to peck through the foil and drink the cream at the top. Soon birds all over the country were doing it. They learned by watching and copying each other. This shows that birds can pass new tricks along, much like people share new ideas.
