Book 31, Question 118
Is “birdbrain” really an insult?
Bird brains are small, but they are packed with a huge number of nerve cells.
Crows and parrots have about as many cells in their forebrain as some monkeys do, and they can solve puzzles, use tools, and remember faces. A tiny brain can still do big jobs when its parts are packed tightly. So calling someone a birdbrain should be a compliment.
