Book 31, Question 108
Do birds play?
Yes.
Scientists have seen ravens slide down snowy roofs and crows ride snow slopes on lids and flat objects. Parrots hang upside down and swing for fun, and young birds toss sticks and leaves and chase each other. Play is not about food. It helps young birds practice movements and learn about their world. It may also help them solve problems later on.
