Book 30, Question 87
What is hard water?
Hard water has lots of dissolved minerals, mostly calcium and magnesium.
These come from rocks that water flows through. Hard water is safe to drink, but it makes soap harder to lather and leaves white crusty limescale on faucets and inside kettles. In places with soft water, soap suds up easily. Areas with limestone often have harder water than areas with granite.
