Book 29, Question 139

How do you store garden vegetables so they last?

Different vegetables need different care.

Potatoes and onions store best in cool, dark, dry places after curing, which means drying them for a few days. Winter squash stores well in a cool, dry room. Leafy greens go in the fridge in a bag. Tomatoes taste better at room temperature. Carrots keep in damp sand or the fridge. Check often and use any soft ones first.
