How can you save seeds from your garden?
Let some plants finish their cycle.
Beans and peas are left on the plant until pods dry and rattle. Sunflowers are cut when the back of the head turns brown and the seeds are plump. Tomato seeds are scooped out, rinsed, and dried. Dry seeds thoroughly on a plate, then store them in labeled envelopes in a cool, dry place. Pick the healthiest plants as parents.
