Book 29, Question 84
How do self-watering pots work?
A self-watering pot has a water reservoir at the bottom and a wick or a column of soil that connects it to the plant roots.
Water moves upward through the wick by capillary action, the same way a paper towel soaks up spilled water. The plant takes what it needs. This keeps soil evenly damp and saves trips to the tap, especially in summer.
