Book 26, Question 112

Why do designers draw an invention on a computer first?

Computer-aided design, or CAD, is software that lets designers draw shapes in three dimensions.

They can rotate them, measure parts, and check whether pieces fit together. Changes are easy, and no material is wasted. The drawing can then be sent to machines that cut or print the parts. CAD is used for everything from toys to airplanes.
