Why did the Ford Edsel car fail?
But the car sold far fewer than the company hoped.
In 1957, Ford launched a new car called the Edsel after years of planning and big advertising. It had a strange front grill that many people did not like, the price was confusing, and some early cars had flaws. Tastes changed, and Ford stopped making Edsels in 1959. The name still means a big flop.
