Book 25, Question 146
Why do cities have public art?
Murals, statues, mosaics, and light displays make streets friendlier and tell a community's stories.
Public art can brighten a plain wall or turn a utility box into a masterpiece. Artists use paints and materials that must stand up to sun, rain, and snow. Art gives people a reason to stop, look, and talk to each other.
