The Big Idea

Friendlier Streets

Brightening

Step two: Brightening. Public art can brighten a plain wall or turn a utility box into a masterpiece. Artists use paints and materials that stand up to sun, rain, and snow.

Gathering

Step three: Gathering. Art gives people a reason to stop, look, and talk to each other. It brings neighbors together.

A Closer Look

Let's take a closer look! Murals cover walls. Statues honor people. Mosaics use tiles. Lights glow at night.

Quick Facts

Quick facts! Some murals use special paint that resists fading for many years. Utility boxes become art. Art starts conversations. Made for all weather.

Think Like a Scientist
