Book 25, Question 33
How do speed bumps make cars slow down?
A speed bump makes a car's wheels go up and over a little hill.
If the car goes fast, the bump jolts the car and everyone inside, so drivers slow down to stay comfortable. Going slowly means a smooth ride. Slower speeds give drivers more time to notice children, pets, and people crossing. They are used near schools and parks.
