Intro
Hi there, curious minds! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. Why does a robot check, act, and check again?
The Big Idea
A robot checks, acts, and checks again because the world changes while it works! A wheel might slip, or someone might step in front. Checking after each move lets the robot correct its mistakes.
Check
Step one: check. The robot uses its sensors to see where it is and what is around it. It compares that with where it wants to be.
Act
Step two: act. Then the robot makes a small move toward its goal. But a wheel might slip, or a person might step in the way.
Check Again
Step three: check again. After the move, the robot checks what really happened and fixes any mistakes. This check, act, check loop is called feedback. Steering a bike works the same way: you keep adjusting.
A Closer Look
Let's take a closer look! First, check the position. Next, act with a small move. Then correct any mistake. Step by step, the robot reaches its goal. Small checks add up to big accuracy.
Quick Facts
Quick facts! Feedback is how a thermostat keeps a room warm. The thermostat checks the temperature and turns the heat on or off. Feedback makes robots accurate even when things don't go perfectly. Do the walking test in a clear room, and go slowly.
Think Like a Scientist
Now, think like a scientist! In a clear room, try to walk slowly to a mark on the floor with your eyes closed. Then do it with your eyes open, making small corrections. Which gets you closer? Why does checking help?
