Intro
Hi there, curious minds! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. Why does every robot need a body, a brain, and a power source?
The Big Idea
Every robot needs a body, a brain, and a power source! The body moves and does the work, the brain makes the choices, and the power gives energy to everything. Take away any one of them, and the robot cannot work.
The Body
Step one: the body. A robot's body is its frame, its motors, and its tools, like grippers or wheels. The body lets the robot move and do things in the world.
The Brain
Step two: the brain. The brain is a small computer called a controller. It reads the sensors, follows its instructions, and tells the motors what to do.
The Power
Step three: the power source. Most robots use batteries, which give energy to the motors and the computer. Without power, even the smartest robot just sits still.
A Closer Look
Let's take a closer look! The body is the part that moves. The brain is the part that decides. The power is the part that gives energy. Some robots also have a skin of sensors that can feel touch.
Quick Facts
Quick facts! Your body works like this too, with muscles, a brain, and food for energy. A robot controller is much simpler than a human brain. A robot with a dead battery cannot move, even though its body is fine. Use toys only, and never open a battery cover without a grown-up.
Think Like a Scientist
Now, think like a scientist! Pick a robot toy, or draw a robot. Label the body, the brain, and the power source. Which one would you notice first if it were missing? Tell a friend your answer!
