Intro

Hi! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. Why do we sneeze?

The Big Idea

Ah... ah... ah-choo! A sneeze is your body's super power for kicking out tiny invaders. A tiny irritant causes a big reaction! Let's see how it works, step by step.

Something Gets In

Step one: something gets in! Dust, pollen, pepper, dirt, and other tiny particles float in the air. When they sneak into your nose, your body notices!

Alert! Cover It!

Step two: alert! Tiny hairs and special nerve cells in your nose send a message to your brain: Incoming! Your brain hits the eject button fast. It decides: cover it, blast it, out! And that's your cue to sneeze into your elbow or a tissue.

Ah-Choo!

Step three: ah-choo! Out it goes! Your chest and face muscles squeeze tight. Air blasts out of your nose and mouth, very fast, Ejecting the unwanted guests! Mission: clear and protect!

A Closer Look

Let's take a closer look at a sneeze face! Just before a sneeze, your eyes squeeze shut. Your nose wrinkles up. You take a deep breath in, getting ready for launch! Then, ah-choo! Your mouth and nose blast the air out.

Quick Facts

Quick facts! You might hear that a sneeze blasts air at 150 km per hour, faster than a cheetah! But scientists who measured real sneezes found they're usually slower, more like a speedy bicycle. The tiny droplets can still fly across a room, so always cover your sneeze! And bright sunlight makes some people sneeze. It's called a sun sneeze!

Think Like a Scientist

Now, think like a scientist! Next time you feel a sneeze coming on, pay attention. Notice your face scrunch, your eyes squeeze shut, and your nose wrinkle up. Your body is preparing for launch! What happens right before your big ah-choo? Write it down!

Outro

So every ah-choo is your body protecting you. Bless you! Remember, Crafty Clover can be found on Amazon Books, Google Bookstore, and Apple Books. Available for purchase or download! Bye for now!
