Book 33, Question 116
Why do gibbons sing duets?
Gibbons are small apes of Southeast Asia.
In the morning, pairs of gibbons sing loud, whooping songs together. The songs carry over a mile through the forest. The calls tell neighbors, “This is our home.” They also help the pair stay close and work as a team. A gibbon duet is like a forest radio show.
