Book 33, Question 83
Why do dogs’ claws always show?
A dog can’t tuck its claws away like a cat can.
The claws stay out and touch the ground as it walks, so they work like the cleats on running shoes. They help a dog grip dirt and grass when it runs and turns. Walking on hard pavement wears the claws down. They’re built for traction, not for sneaking.
