Book 32, Question 92
How does a turtle dig a nest with its back feet?
A mother turtle crawls to a safe place with soft soil or sand.
She uses her back feet like small shovels, scooping out a deep hole. She lays her eggs in it and covers it again. All of this happens without her ever seeing the hole. Then she leaves. The buried eggs stay warm and safe for the weeks ahead.
