Book 32, Question 83

Why do some snake moms wrap around their eggs?

A female python coils around her eggs after laying them.

She stays there for weeks and guards the nest. She can even shiver her muscles to make heat and keep the eggs warm. Keeping warm helps the babies grow inside. When the eggs hatch, the mother leaves, and the baby snakes slither off by themselves. It’s a snug and careful start to life.
