Book 32, Question 66
Why do sea snakes have flat tails?
Sea snakes live in warm ocean waters.
Their tails are flat like paddles, which makes them better at pushing against the water. Their nostrils are on top of the snout, so they can breathe air at the surface. Sea snakes come up for air, but some can stay down for a long time. Their bodies are shaped for a watery life.
