Book 32, Question 64
Can a crocodile gallop?
Most crocodiles walk or run in short bursts.
A few kinds, including the freshwater crocodile of Australia, can actually gallop, bounding with their legs and body like a dog. They do this only for short distances to reach water quickly. Galloping crocs can be surprisingly speedy, which is another reason to keep far away from them in the wild.
