Book 32, Question 61
How does a lizard keep its balance on a thin branch?
A lizard has sharp claws or sticky toes that cling to a branch.
Its low, flat body keeps its weight close to the surface, and its long tail swings the other way to stay steady. A tiny organ in each inner ear senses tilt, just like yours. When a branch bends, the lizard shifts its feet and tail and keeps on going.
