Book 32, Question 60
Can a tortoise remember where home is?
Tortoises can learn the locations of food, water, and shelter.
Scientists have shown that some tortoises can learn the path to a snack and remember it later. A tortoise that lives in the same area for years learns its favorite routes. It doesn’t need a map, because it learns by looking at landmarks like rocks, trees, and slopes.
