Book 32, Question 48

Do reptiles sleep?

Yes.

Lizards, snakes, and turtles rest in sleeping spots at night or during the heat of the day. Scientists studied bearded dragons and found their brains show two kinds of sleep, which switch back and forth, a bit like some of our sleep stages. Some reptiles sleep with their eyes closed, and others have clear lids. Sleeping spots are often in burrows or hidden places.
