Why does each kind of reptile have a favorite temperature?
Every kind of reptile has a range of body temperatures where it works best.
Many lizards are happiest in the 90s degrees Fahrenheit, while some forest reptiles like it cooler. Inside that range, muscles, digestion, and thinking all work well. If a reptile gets too cold, it slows down, and if it gets too hot, it can be in danger, so it moves to find just-right spots.
