Book 29, Question 136

Why do gardeners pick many vegetables in the morning?

In the morning, plants are full of water after the cool night, so leaves are crisp and vegetables are firm.

Picking at midday heat can leave greens limp. Early harvest also keeps produce fresher longer, and it's more comfortable for the gardener. Wait until dew has dried to avoid spreading plant diseases by touching wet leaves.
