Book 29, Question 97
What do gardeners do in autumn?
In fall, gardeners harvest the last vegetables, pull out finished plants, and add compost to the soil.
In Ontario, garlic is planted in October for next summer. Leaves can be raked into mulch or compost, though leaving some stems and leaf litter gives insects a place to winter. Tools are cleaned and put away. Autumn is a time to get ready for spring.
