Book 29, Question 96
How do gardeners decide what to plant each season?
Cool-season crops like peas, lettuce, and spinach grow best in early spring and fall when weather is mild.
Warm-season crops like tomatoes, beans, and squash must wait until after the last frost. Many gardeners make a calendar with planting and harvesting dates. Planting small amounts every couple of weeks keeps food coming. In Canada, the garden year begins indoors in early spring.
