Book 29, Question 52
Why are ladybugs helpful garden guests?
Ladybugs eat soft-bodied pests, especially aphids that suck sap from plants.
One ladybug can eat dozens of aphids a day and thousands in a lifetime. Their young, which look like tiny spiky alligators, are hungry eaters too. Gardeners welcome them by planting flowers and avoiding sprays. If you find one on your plant, let it do its work.
