Book 29, Question 3
How can you make a sun map of your yard?
A sun map shows where light and shade fall during the day.
On a clear day, check your yard every hour or two. Mark with chalk or a drawing where the shadows from houses, fences, and trees are. Spots that stay sunny the whole day are best for sun-loving plants like tomatoes. Shady spots suit lettuce and ferns. Sun maps change with the seasons.
