Book 28, Question 140
How are lines painted on a sports field?
Groundskeepers use string, tape measures, and sometimes GPS-guided machines to place the lines exactly.
Then a line-marking machine sprays paint or a safe marking mix on the grass. Straight lines come from stretching strings between marked points, and circles come from using a fixed point and a rope as a compass. Exact measurements make the game fair.
