Book 28, Question 130
How do batting averages and other stats measure skill?
A batting average is the number of hits divided by the number of times at bat.
A player with 30 hits in 100 tries has an average of .300, which is very good in baseball. Statistics turn many plays into one number so coaches and fans can compare. But they don't tell the whole story, since teamwork, defense, and effort also matter.
