How do stadium lights make night games possible?
Tall towers carry many bright lamps pointed at different parts of the field.
Together they give even light with few dark spots or shadows. Special shields keep light from shining in players' eyes or into neighbors' windows. Many stadiums now use LED lights that can switch on instantly. Good lighting helps players see the ball and cameras record the game.
