Book 28, Question 37
Why do swimmers wear swim caps?
A swim cap covers hair so it does not drift across a swimmer’s face or drag in the water.
A smooth cap helps the swimmer slip through the water, so racers wear snug ones. Caps also protect hair from chlorine in a pool and can keep your head a bit warmer in cool water. Bright colors make swimmers easier for lifeguards to spot.
