Book 28, Question 30
Why is a wet field so slippery?
A thin layer of water between shoes and grass acts like a lubricant.
It separates the surfaces so they don't grip each other as strongly. Mud makes it even worse, since it forms a slippery paste. That's why players slip more on a rainy day and why they choose longer studs. Slow down, take shorter steps, and watch for puddles to stay safe.
