Book 28, Question 23
How do outfielders know where a fly ball will land?
An outfielder doesn't solve math problems.
Instead, they run so the ball appears to rise at a steady rate in their view. If it looks like it's speeding up or slowing down, they speed up or slow down until it looks steady. That path leads them to where it comes down. Practice makes the skill automatic.
