Book 27, Question 143
Are any crystals or minerals unsafe?
Most rocks are safe to handle, but some need care.
Never taste minerals. A few contain harmful metals, so wash your hands after handling. Dust from cutting or grinding rocks can hurt your lungs, so professionals wear masks and use water. Sharp edges can cut. Always ask a grown-up before collecting rocks or handling unfamiliar ones, and leave sites with unsafe cliffs or loose rock alone.
