How do you label and keep a rock collection?
Give every specimen a number and write it on a small sticker or tag.
In a notebook, record the date, where you found it, and what it looks like. The place where it was found is the most important clue. Store samples in egg cartons or small boxes with soft paper. Take pictures. A well-labeled collection can be used to learn and share science.
