Book 27, Question 28
Why do slow-growing crystals get bigger than fast-growing ones?
When a crystal grows slowly, atoms have time to find the perfect spot, so the crystal can get big and clear.
When a solution cools or dries quickly, thousands of tiny crystals start at once, and they run out of material before any gets large. This is why cooling speed makes a huge difference in the size of crystals in science, cooking, and nature.
