Book 27, Question 27
Why does a tiny seed crystal help a big one grow?
A seed crystal is a small, ready-made crystal that gives atoms a perfect place to attach.
Instead of making lots of new tiny crystals everywhere, the dissolved material adds to the seed, making one big crystal. That is why rock candy makers use a string coated with sugar crystals, and why labs use seeds when they want large, clear crystals for technology.
