Book 26, Question 56
When were eyeglasses invented?
They used curved pieces of glass or crystal that magnified words for people whose near vision was getting blurry.
The first eyeglasses were made in Italy around 1286. At first, people held them in front of their eyes or balanced them on the nose. Later, makers added frames that hooked over the ears. Eyeglasses helped many people keep reading.
